Although not long ago, and framed within the travel diary to Syria, Lebanon and Jordan 2009, we would talk long and hard about the Gastronomy in the Middle East and of your mezzes or entrees, their main dishes, their desserts and drinks,as well as in the travel diary to Peru 2010 we would do the same with the Peruvian gastronomy and your first dishes or snacks / snacks, their main dishes and your desserts and drinks, and even a visit to our good friends Josep and Angela would help us talk about the kitchen of Barcelona, on this occasion, and for the good "taste of the mouth" that we bring, we think it is convenient to expand a little around some dishes of Turkish Gastronomy

And, taking advantage of our Istanbul getaway 2013, we have brought a series of dishes not to fail to try on future visits to Turkey (or at least, to serve as a reminder), which complement in more detail what we had already seen from other countries in the Middle East.

Turkish Gastronomy, in general, has many influences from these and Balkan Gastronomy (images, as always, taken from Google Images), and its diversity of ingredients and dishes is uncountable. Here are our ESSENTIALS to try a visit to the country (in addition to those already listed):

ÇORBASIS
Soups of all kinds, such as Bulama (from Yogurth and Ayran)
PATLICAN
Variety of eggplants, usually stuffed
BÖREK

We do not delve deeply into matters of starters or mezzes or drinks, widely described in the aforementioned articles. So serve as a reminder for future trips to Turkey and for future travelers to the beautiful city of Istanbul.
